The SD card was in use in advance, and I just created a new folder on the root. You need to place the file directly in the "Nikon" folder in the root directory of the card, not in a new sub-folder created within the Nikon folder. Your camera will only "see" it as a valid A-GPS file if it is located in the Nikon folder located in the root directory itself. Using assisted GPS (A-GPS or aGPS) files reduces the time needed for the built-in location data unit to determine the current position. Before using the GPS function, it is recommended to download the latest data to a SD-card, then update the D5300's A-GPS data. In the case of my Nuvi the file required is a .gpx file which is compatible with Nikon View NX. Before capturing your images it is important to ensure that the camera clock is synchronised to your GPS unit clock.
